It’s a crazy time for tattoo lovers in India – we are a growing country in terms of our tattooing culture, sensibilities and reach, and are constantly being exposed to more and more brilliant modern tattoo art from all corners. But, what is truly pushing and promoting this new found love for the age old art form is the number of conventions and tattoo art festivals spread across the body of India.

An Indian tattoo lover, today, has more than 6 tattoo conventions to choose from to attend, and is being offered much more than just spectacular tattoos to wonder at. And now, we are getting closer to the biggest of the lot we have in India – Heartwork Tattoo Festival 2016.

This year will be the second edition of HTF; the festival that brought to our shores tattoo legends for the first time ever, last year. And this time round, their lineup boasts of assembling probably one of the finest conglomeration of tattoo artists from the tattooing powerhouses of Europe.

From the likes of Jay Freestyle, who has revolutionised the entire idea of abstract tattooing to black and grey masters like Pablo Hernandez to new school artists like John Anderton to the modern macabre genius, Stepan Negur, the list is endless with bursting talent, and also boasts of some of the finest Indian artists as well. And, that’s not it.

The festival will also be home to power gigs by the likes of Vishal Dadlani to Kabir Cafe. It will also witness some of the finest skaters of North India put a show of their sleek skills. For the trippers of adrenaline, the festival is famous for the motorcycle madness across the carpet.

We can go on and on about the grandness of the festival, and all the attractions to choose from, but what really differentiates HTF from other tattoo conventions of South Asia is the spectrum given to every individual to express their individuality, and that is the very core of tattooing. Tattoos at its very basic essence is about individual expression, and that’s what you get from 2nd to 4th December, 2016 at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi.
